Education systems in the Western Balkans are undergoing rapid transformation driven by digitalisation and emerging technologies. However, many higher education institutions still face challenges related to outdated teaching methodologies, limited digital infrastructure, and a mismatch between acquired skills and labour market demands.

In this context, the RELIABLE project introduces Artificial Intelligence as a key driver of innovation in education. By integrating AI-powered tools into teaching, learning and institutional management, the project aims to create more efficient, inclusive and adaptive higher education systems.

AI technologies enable a shift from traditional, one-size-fits-all education towards personalised learning experiences. Through adaptive systems, learning content can be tailored to individual student needs, allowing for improved engagement, performance and overall learning outcomes.

At the same time, AI offers solutions for optimizing institutional processes. By automating administrative tasks such as grading, attendance tracking and data management, educators can dedicate more time to teaching and mentoring, improving the quality of education delivery.

The project also addresses broader regional challenges, including unequal access to education, limited resources and the need for scalable, high-quality learning solutions. AI-driven tools provide an opportunity to bridge these gaps and ensure more equitable access to knowledge and skills development .
