Research and practice in higher education across the Western Balkans show that institutions are facing increasing pressure to modernize teaching methods, improve efficiency and align learning outcomes with labour market needs.

Despite ongoing reforms, many systems still rely on traditional approaches that limit student engagement, reduce flexibility and do not fully exploit the potential of digital technologies.

The RELIABLE project addresses these challenges by introducing Artificial Intelligence as a key enabler of transformation in higher education. By integrating AI into teaching, learning and institutional processes, the project supports the transition towards more adaptive, efficient and inclusive education systems.

Through AI-powered tools such as adaptive learning platforms, intelligent assistants and automated administrative systems, RELIABLE contributes to improving learning outcomes, optimizing institutional performance and enhancing the overall quality of education in the region .
